Trelleborg Offshore can trace its roots all the way back to 1905 when Henry Dunker founded Trelleborg Gummifabriks AB and turned it into Scandinavia’s leading rubber production company. The inception of Trelleborg Offshore in 2009 followed a 20-year period of market consolidation of well-known brands such as Emerson and Cuming, CRP, Balmoral Marine, OCP, Tyco, Ambler and Wood Corp. Today, Trelleborg Offshore continues to be a world-leader in buoyancy, insulation and asset protection.
Bend Control Solutions
Where any flexible tubular connects to a structure, normal movement during operation or forces incurred during installation can cause catastrophic failure of the tubular at the termination point. The failure mode can be through collapse, rupture of internal lines or even rupture of the external layers leading to escape of the contents to the environment. This can be caused through fatigue damage over time. Our Bend control solutions reduce this damage.
Cable and Flowline Protection
With an ever increasing global requirement for data and product transfer, and the necessity for transfer networks to run through ever harsher environments, the demand for highly advanced cable and flowline protection grows. Trelleborg Offshore is at the forefront of cable and flowline protection for the telecommunications and oil & gas industries, providing solutions to some of the world’s most prestigious projects.
Drill Riser Buoyancy
The drill riser provides a conduit for the drill string and drilling fluids from the ocean floor to the rig. This has significant weight which must be supported by its own structure and ultimately by the drilling vessel. In order to reduce this weight in water to a more manageable amount, discrete buoyancy units are fitted along the length of the riser.
